Trails Invite Registration
Hey River Rats
This is a reminder that the registration for the Trails Invitational will close tonight at midnight. The reason for such a long time between registration and the meet is they request the entries a week ahead of time in order to prepare for all eight teams involved. Currently I only see 18 swimmers registered for the meet. I have attached the information packet to this email to provide with more details. If we find less then 50 swimmers will be swimming this meet we will be forced to cancel. Please email me with any questions.
I have had several questions regarding the difference between the Trails of Algonquin Invite and the Trails Duel Meet. I have attached an information sheet to help explain the meet and meet information a little bit clearer; I hope.
Currently we only have 34 people signed up. Please register asap!!!!
Questions? Email Coach Joe

Wanted
Geneva River Rat Parents
To Volunteer
At Your Teams Concession Stand
Dear Geneva River Rat Parents:
My name is Stacy Bloink, and I would like to welcome you to the Geneva River Rats Swim Club 2009 season. Volunteering at the concessions stand is a great way to get to know the rest of your swim team family members!
The concession stand is a very vital ingredient for our team’s continued financial growth. It is crucial that the concession stand is manned fully at every meet.
· If you or someone in your family would donate time in your concession stand this summer, I can be reached at
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
or 630-208-7389.
Our Invitational meet is this Sunday June 14th
and our first meet is Tues June 16th against DeKalb.
I am in desperate need of many, many helpers!
· As in the past, families will be assigned to donate food and drink to concessions. Please look for your family’s names next to the items we need for that up and coming meet. If you know you will not be attending or cannot bring the item requested, please let me know ASAP.
· Here are a few items that are needed: If you would like to make a donation ahead of time, it would be greatly appreciated.
· Cases/12 packs of Soda Pop (diet and regular - Pepsi, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, Coke, 7Up) & water bottles, Gatorade, Chips, candy bars, granola bars.
Thank you ahead of time and I am excited to work with you!

Parent Meetings
Quick Update:
There are two additional parents meetings scheduled:
-5/29/2009 - (7-8 pm) at Geneva Park District
-6/5/2009 - (4-5 pm) at Geneva Park District
Also, two suit try-on dates have been scheduled:
-Sunday, May 31st at 6:15pm - ? at Marmion
-Tuesday, June 2nd at 7:15pm - ? at Marmion
Also, if you have logged unto the website, we have updated it to accomodate summer registration as well as registration for upcoming swim meets. When you use this feature, select the "offline" payment option to register for events. We are leveraging a ticketing system for the new web site. It uses the concept of purchasing a ticket for an event. Registering for the meets is akin to purchasing a free ticket to the meet.
Regarding summer registration and apparel purchases, we have implemented a PayPal option for those who would prefer that method of payment.
Please let me know if you have any questions,
President Michael Krass

Spring Swim Update
Due to the closing of Marmion High School facilities until Monday, Spring Swim this Sunday evening will be cancelled. The Kane County Health Department has described the closing as a precaution for the swine flu with no serious concerns regarding the building. The River Rats expect to be in the water on Monday evening. Also a time change has occurred for Tuesday and Thursday evening practices. Instead of starting at 7:15pm we will start at 7:30pm on those evenings for all of Spring Swim.
Thank you for your understanding in this manner.

2009 Summer Swim Registration is OPEN!
Summer swimming is where the River Rats got their start. Established in 1972 by eleven swimmers, who had their first meet against each other, the River Rat program has grown to an average of 150 swimmers per season. The River Rat program is a member of NCISC (North Central Illinois Swim Conference) that includes fourteen other teams throughout the Chicago Suburbs. As stated in our mission statement, the River Rat program promotes the sport of swimming through teaching the mastery of all four strokes and an introduction into competitive swimming through teaching qualities of good sportsmanship.
The summer season includes practices outside starting the first day of summer break for the Geneva School District. Practices are offered from five to six days a week with at least one swim meet per week. The seven week program offers swimmers convenient practice times that allow them to be part of other activities during the summer (take a look at last years schedule at the bottom of the page). The last meet of the summer season is our Conference Championship meet held at the end of July. The meet offers our swimmers a great arena for participating in a Championship meet very similar to competitions held throughout United States Swimming.
2009 Summer Registration is open!!! Please make sure to read through all the information on the Summer Registration Form and if you have any questions please feel free to email Coach Joe. Notice the Pre-Registration date this year is May 17th. Additionally our practice and meet schedule has been finalized so be sure to check those out under the summer session information on the website.

UPDATED November 2, 2008
2009 Winter Swim Registration is NOW OPEN!
Our first session will begin January 18th, 2009 with our last session ending on April 26th, 2009. We will offer two sessions at Marmion High School on Sundays: 5:00pm-6:00pm for 11&overs and 6:00-7:00pm for 10&unders. This is a change of schedule from past Winter Swims with 10 year olds now joining the second session from 6:00pm-7:00pm.
The cost of Winter Swim 2009: $98 for the first swimmer and $90 for any additional swimmer from the same household. The raising of our registration fees is due to the increasing pool rental fees of Marmion High School. The Geneva Swim Club Parent Board will do its best to ensure our fees remain as low as possible.
We will currently be taking registration forms with payment via mail. However you may bring your form and payment to the first session on January 18th, 2009. Please read through the registration form completely as this email does not have all the necessary information. Please spread the word to family, friends, and classmates that our program is open to everyone who meets our requirements on the registration form.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
