Welcome to the Geneva River Rats 2010 Summer Season! Please read through this packet completely before mailing your form.
The success of the River Rat’s Summer Program is found in the participation of our scheduled swim meets. A summer meet schedule has been posted on the website and should be looked at carefully. The most important meet of the season is our Conference Championship meet held in Woodstock, IL this year. All swimmers can attend conference if they have participated in 3 or more conference (Dual or Invitational) swim meets. Mark your calendars now; our conference meet is Saturday July 17th. *The Conference Championship meet is not a requirement for participation in the River Rat’s Summer Program*
There is a mandatory parent meeting that will be held on May 23rd at Marmion High School (near the pool area). 11&older parent meeting will be held at 5:15pm and the 10&under parent meeting will be held at 6:30pm. If you have swimmers in both age groups please pick one to attend.
Our summer season will tentatively start on Tuesday June 1st, 2010 (evenings at Marmion until Friday, June 4th) and end on Saturday, July 17th with our conference championship meet. Our practices for the summer will be held at Geneva’s Sunset Pool and Eagle Brook Country Club. Prior to the season beginning we will distribute a practice schedule for all swimmers loosely based on the past year’s schedule).
The 2010 Summer Season will begin with tryouts held at Marmion High School on Sunday May 2nd, 2010 at 7:30pm. If your swimmer cannot make this date you can make an appointment with Coach Joe in order to be tested. In addition there will be a mandatory parent meeting for all parents as attendance will be taken. Please check the website’s calendar for the scheduled parent meeting.
Registration for the summer season begins once this form has reached you. It is important that you understand the registration procedure for summer since it is different from past years. With pool space tightening it is very important for us to know the size of our team and the size our age groups. In past years we have received to many forms the week before or week after the season officially starts, this has made it difficult for us to mange our pool space and know the sizes for team t-shirts. If you register after May 18th your swimmer will not get their T-Shirt for the beginning of the season. A second order will be made for those that register after the 18th.
The following are the 2010 Summer Fees:
Registration Date Fee (before June 10th, 2010): $260 First swimmer
$250 Any Additional swimmer (from same household)
A new online registration system is available through our website. It is very user friendly and you have the option of using a credit card for your registration fees. Please go to the website for further instructions.
Parents may register by writing a check for the full amount owed. An additional option: write two checks splitting your family’s fees in half; date one check in April and post-date the second check for June 18th, and mail both checks in with the registration form. Swimmers may not participate in Summer Swim unless a signed registration form and complete fees have been received.
